El Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas y de la Información (IIBI) de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), será el anfitrión del Congreso Bibliotecología, Estudios de la Información y Medios de Comunicación, Perspectiva Internacional. El IIBI y tres secciones de la International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) organizan este evento. Las tres secciones IFLA son:
Sección de América Latina y el Caribe - IFLA LAC
Sección de Teoría e Investigación Bibliotecológicas - IFLA LTR
Sección de Medios de Comunicación - IFLA News Media
Las secciones IFLA LAC e IFLA LTR realizarán, de manera conjunta, el Seminario abierto "Reduciendo la brecha entre investigación y práctica bibliotecológica" durante los días 3 y 4 de marzo.
Los días 5 y 6 de marzo, cada una de estas secciones realizará sus propias sesiones cerradas.
La ceremonia de inauguración del seminario abierto "Reduciendo la brecha entre investigación y práctica bibliotecológica" será el 3 de marzo a las 09:00 hrs., la sede será en la Torre de Ingeniería dentro del campus de Ciudad Universitaria en la Ciudad de México.

IFLA LAC and IFLA LTR will collaborate together with the open seminar “Bridging the gap between research and library practice”, its sessions are going to be on March 3 and 4.
After this open seminar, each section will have its own closed sessions on March 5 and 6.
The open ceremony for “Bridging the gap between research and library practice” open seminar will be on March 3, at 09:00 hrs and the headquarters is going to be at Torre de Ingeniería, in the campus of Ciudad Universitaria in Mexico City.
