Teaching

Dr. Juan Voutssas M. has 43 years of teaching experience. Initially, he was professor for five years of introductory and language programming courses in the "Computing Services Center" at UNAM. In the School of Library and Information Science, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of UNAM he has taught continuously since 1985: 25 years in the undergraduate level, 30 in Master's Degree and 18 in Ph. Degree.

Currently he teaches the curricular courses "Automation Applied to Information Services" and "Operating Systems and ICT Platforms" in the Master's Degree in Library and Information Science at UNAM. He is or has been director or co-tutor of 80 master's and doctoral students in their researchs through this program. 50 of them have completed their thesis and obtained their degree in both academic levels. He has been peer reviewer for the thesis of 120 other students.

In addition to over 137 curricular courses at UNAM, he has imparted over 40 courses of specialization and continuing education for various institutions. In 2011, he coordinated the design and was an instructor of a Diploma in "Management and Preservation of Digital Archives", first of its kind in Mexico.
