Research lines
Dr. Juan Voutssas M. develops the field of Information and Communications Technology -ICT- in its relationship with Library, Archival and other Information Sciences. His span of study within the Institute of Library and Information Science Research (IIBI) covers the theories, equipment, applications, events, trends, structures, etc., of these technologies and their effects, problems and solutions in libraries, archives, collections, services, publications and users inside current society. Approaches are different: social, technical, cultural, economic, legal, documentary, administrative, and so on. This field is developed as much by researchers of the Institute as grade students carrying out projects in some of these issues as part of their thesis.
The field can be divided in three major research areas: central, technical and complementary.
